I know I am the one who bought this book for my sister. I am the one who brought the idea. And yet, I am the one who had no idea this is a play. The book itself is written as a rehersal script.
When I opened the book at my sisters place and saw the way it was written, and she told me that she has also been surpriced but it was really fast for her to read it, because the text is shorter....and she asked me if I want to read it...I said of course! Because I wanted to. But the way it is written as a script really confused me at first. I had to read the first chapter, the same as the last from J. K. Rowlings last book, whan Harry and Ginny are sending their boys off to Hogwarts. I read it, I re-read it and I was so confused.
But as I let it sit for a while, not touching the book or even opening it, it kind of developed in my mind, so the next time I opened the book it was so much more easier to read it. The story somehow develops so fast, because only the most important parts are there. It feels like a lot is missing, but at the same time, all the important parts are there. Just like a play. Because that is what it is.
The story is about Albus Severus Potter. The black sheap of the Potter family. The one that is sorted into Slytherin house. The one that doesn't know his spells. The one that doesn't reach the expectations of the others.
The pressure of being Harry Potters son is being too much on Albus. And finally he finds a way to change the past. He sees the opportunity and goes whit it. But things doesn't really go as he planned.
This is a play that I am really enjoying. I am looking forward to see what will happen next. Even if it is not a book written in a way I am used to, it really builds up the Harry Potter mystery as you read.
Really worth a read. I would actually also want to see it as a play. That would be interesting.
